I only sent out a handful of Christmas cards this year. If you'd like to see what we sent, here it is. Merry Christmas!
Our family has had another exciting year here in Germany. Our year started with Erick still deployed to Afghanistan. In February, we had a wonderful vacation visiting Erick in the States for two weeks of R&R. We took the kids to Disneyland (Thanks Uncle Dave!) and spent time in Utah with family. In June, Erick returned from his year-long deployment. It feels so nice to have him home.
Since Erick's return, we have seen many places including Bruges, Strasbourg, The Black Forest, and more. The next trip on our agenda is a Mediterranean cruise with my parents the week before Christmas. I am so excited! If you want to see photos of our adventures, check out the blog at teratidbits.blogspot.com
Erick was recently promoted to Captain. He is now the Battalion S4, which means he is in charge of logistics. He is very good at his new position and stays very busy. Erick received a Bronze Star for his exceptional service in Afghanistan. We are very proud of him!
Tera is trying to expand her photography skills. All the traveling that we do has given her ample opportunity. She has also developed a love of running. She ran a 10K in Scotland earlier in the year and plans to run a half marathon in the Spring.
Josephine is in 4th grade this year. She has recently discovered the Harry Potter series and is devouring the contents of the books in earnest. Joey is excelling at school and at the piano. She is excited to finally have her own military ID card which she received after her 10th birthday this year.
Bailey is also excelling at school (3rd grade) as well as piano. She is also a budding photographer. Using a camera she received from Grandma Blackham, she has captured some amazing photos. The highlight for Bailey this year was her decision to follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized. Surrounded by family and friends, Bailey was baptized in Utah by Erick during his R&R.
TJ is now attending American Kindergarten. Surprising his parents, he has asked his teachers to call him 'Erick' (that is his first name after all). TJ has developed a love of museums. On a recent trip to Paris, he was much more interested in The Louvre and Les Invalides than he was in the Eiffel Tower or the Arc de Triomphe.
David finally decided to walk earlier in the year and is saying more discernible words. His personality is still bursting out of his little body along with a streak of stubbornness. David is mostly a daddy's boy, but he enjoys his runs and bike rides with Mom while Dad is at work.
We know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and that through Him we can find peace throughout our lives.
MAY YOUR HOLIDAY BE FILLED WITH
LOVE, PEACE AND JOY
Love,
Erick, Tera, Josephine (10), Bailey (8), TJ (6), & David (2)
