Prague

Susan and I decided to take a day trip to Prague. I absolutely love that Prague is only two hours from my house. How lucky am I?

Both Susan and I had been there before, so we wanted to start off by seeing something new. We headed over to the Jewish Cemetery and Memorial. There are thousands of names of Jews from the surrounding regions written on the walls inside the building. We tried to find the names of Susan's ancestors among the masses. It was a difficult task.

Photos were not permitted inside and only outside if I purchased photopass. I gladly bought the pass and did my best to capture the haunting beauty of the cemetery.

We went to the town center for lunch. We sat at a cute cafe. This was the view from my seat. I know. I'm spoiled:

We couldn't pass by the trdelník stand without purchasing one for dessert. Yum!

With trdelníks in hand, we headed over to the Astronomical clock:

We decided to take the elevator to the top. I'm so glad we did. The views were beautiful. And look! See the cafe down there with canopies? The yellow building right in front of the church? That's where we had lunch. So fun!

Next we headed over to St. Charles Bridge. We enjoyed the views while shopping from the vendors. It was a nice evening.

And just like that, it was time to head home. I'm so glad I got to go with Susan. She is a great traveling companion:

A bonus on this trip was that I walked away with new hat, a couple of pieces of handmade jewelry, and a new charm that I just LOVE!

Looks like you had a fun day away! Some day I will go to Prague! The pictures you took of the cemetery were well worth the paid picture pass!
