Eibsee

After our trip up the Zugspitz, we decided to take a walk around Eibsee. The water was crystal clear. The weather was perfect. We planned to take a paddle boat out onto the water, but we were out of cash, and the guy didn't accept cards. The closest ATM was a city away, and we were not willing to un-park then re-park our big van. So instead, we enjoyed a nice hike and some amazing views. Take a look:

The red and white towers in the background are part of the tram that carried us to the top.

Getting into position for a family photo:

I set the timer on the camera and ran. The rock on which we are perched was large and high. It took a couple attempts for me to make it on the rock it in time to be in the photo. But I did it. Ta-da! Try to ignore the fact that I look off balance and awkward:

The kids were pretty disappointed about missing out on the paddle boats, so Erick promised them we would come back and do it next Spring. Anyone from the states want to come join us? Come on. You know you want to. It's pretty...

Just before we headed back to the car, one of the kids saw a water snake. See it on the left headed for the grassy area? It was a highlight for the kids. I'm just glad it was so little:

Time to go back. The path and the trees were so beautiful. And that guy leading the pack was pretty handsome too:

Until next Spring. Goodbye Eibsee! And goodbye gorgeous view!

Beautiful lake with perfect weather. Reminded me so much of the Northwest only with a huge mountain in the back drop.

Ha ha, I think we all got a little laugh out of Erick's comment. I was a little confused. But WOW beautiful pictures! Water snakes...hmmm that is frightening. But maybe we'll have to go back with you in the spring :)
