Knowing that this is the last fall season we will experience in Germany, we really wanted to take a trip to Munich and check out Oktoberfest. For lack of a better example, I would compare Oktoberfest to a State Fair on steroids.
As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we don't drink alcohol. But we learned that Oktoberfest is not just about the drinking. There were lots of rides, food, souvenirs, and we even saw farm equipment on display.
I did not take a lot of photos because it was pouring rain the entire time we were there, and I had no umbrella to protect my camera. But I was grateful for the rain because it kept the crowds down. And I had heard that it was CROWDED before the rain began.
On the train to Munich:
We took a ride on the giant Ferris Wheel. Finally, we were out of the rain and I could take some photos. Can you tell how wet everyone is?

While we were there, Erick bought each of us a traditional lebkuchen (cookie) heart. The next day was Sunday, and after church we posed to take a picture. It was not raining. The kids REALLY wanted to eat their lebkuchen. I think the flavor and texture were a bit different than the kids were expecting. Not one of them finished their entire cookie:
