The following post is about my family and my visit to an American Cemetery in France back in May. It was Memorial day weekend. Along with those who died fighting, today I am remembering the thousands who were murdered at the hands of terrorists 12 years ago. I will never forget the sadness and loss that I felt that day.
On the way home from Picardie, we saw signs for the Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery. We decided a quick stop would be a perfect way to top off our whirlwind Memorial day weekend.
Erick and I were under the impression that the cemetery was five or six miles off the freeway. After driving for 30 minutes, we debated turning around. It couldn't be much further, could it?
It took us 40 minutes to get there from the freeway. Whoops! It definitely added some drive time to our trip, but it was worth it. Take a look:
It was no surprise that this cemetery was beautiful and peaceful. I believe the Spirit of the Lord is present here because of the amazing sacrifices these men and women have made for good:

What an absolutely gorgeous cemetery! I love going to cemeteries. They are so peaceful and beautiful. That being said, those trees look like they came out of a Dr. Seuss book!
Wow...so much emotion in these pictures.
