We made it!

I'm reporting to you now from the beautiful land of Bavaria (If you would like more specific details or contact information, please email me or comment with your information, and I will email you).

I wanted to take a moment to let everyone know that the kids and I survived the trip: a three hour flight, an eight hour flight, and a five hour bus ride.

In our travels, we tried to have as many adventures as possible. We had a picnic on the floor of the airport:

I did my part to make the trip more interesting by forgetting to charge my laptop (aka personal dvd player).

The kids did not even get to watch one full movie. This definitely added to the length of our travel, but my kids travel really well, so we survived with smiles:

Here are Joey and TJ on the final leg of our trip (the bus) playing their personal gaming devices (Nintendo DS and a Leapster). May I say, that these modern conveniences were definitely a lifesaver on this long, long journey:

The views from the bus were breathtaking! The country is covered with rolling hills and lots of trees.  Here is a picture of some trees taken from the bus:

Then suddenly there would be a clearing where we could see a beautiful little farm or a village:

We passed this sign, and I couldn't help but take a picture. I definitely need to learn German because right now I would offend a lot of friends if I tried to pronounce the name on this sign:

Our bus ride ended with a perfect sunset. I don't have a super fancy camera, so this photo is not even close to the beauty that we saw in reality. Perhaps it can give you an idea.

What a way to end a day:

Glad you made it over there safely. Your kids are amazing for travelling so well, and you are a brave woman for attempting that journey! I'm a touch jealous- I love Bavaria and I think you're going to have a wonderful adventure!

I've been thinking about you and wondering how your trip went! Wow, so glad you made it, that angry Swede story is something else. Of course you handled the situation gracefully. I don't think I would have...but then again sounds like he didn't let you get a word in edge-wise. :)

Can't wait to see more pictures. Glad you don't have a picture of a hairy crack though. hee hee. Did I just type that? It is late and my hubby is out of town, I'm punchy.

Hooray! I'm so happy you've made it to Germany safely. I also enjoyed the story of the angry swede and echo the comment above on the picture part though, :). Give your kids a hug for me! I'll be checking back frequently for updates on your life!

SO jealous! Looks amazing. I have a funny story about that "Ausfahrt" sign that I should tell you. I'd love to know where you are - I might be coming out there to visit a cousin (she's moving to Munich for three months with her little family) in November, and if you're not far from there, how cool would it be to hook up? :)

Yeah! I'm so glad that you got there safely. You are so amazing and I hope that things go really well in your new home. I don't think I ever told you, but we did get new upstairs neighbors from Egypt. They have triplet 18-month-olds! They are very kind, but needless to say we miss the quiet days with our old neighbors!

So glad you made it safe. You have a great attitude about the angry Swede. I don't know I would have been as happy as you to be sitting next to someone like that. Hope you have the time of your life in Germany...

How beautiful. I'm so glad you arrived in one piece. I'm glad the Swede arrived in one piece. He might not have if I was sitting next to him:) I love the street sign. That is hilarious. I dreamed I kept calling your cell phone and having it tell me it was disconnected. I woke up feeling like I had no way to reach you. So thanks for being so prompt on your blog. I want pictures of the house and neighborhood asap. Miss you!
