Literacy Night

Thursday night, at Joey's school they had an event that they call Literacy Night. We started off by playing Moon walk, which is a variation of a cake walk, only you win books instead of cakes.

Each of the kids won a book. Fun!

We played computer games in the library. Really the intent was to understand an online book-making program, but my kids were a bit young to understand what was going on. Joey was able to show TJ and Bailey how to find and play games on the macs, and everyone was happy.

Then we watched a science demonstration while eating snow cones.

At the end of the night, we wrote our favorite books onto a card that instructed those who found it to email the principle with their location. We tied the cards to helium balloons and launched them. The principle told the kids that he would report where the balloons and cards are found.

Bailey looks like she is having a ball. What a fun night, it kills me to miss these things.

What a great night! I think that Principal Markworth is fantastic! Lucky you for being able to be a part of that night!

You seem to find such fun events for your kids to be involved in. I lost you for a while, and missed about 3 posts, not sure how that happened.
